Okori noted that the ministry has already finished plans to restructure all its workers in all departments to exclude all those that do not have computer knowledge.
“Those without computer knowledge should either go for training or seek early retirement because all systems are to be computerised with one data centre,”Okori said.
He noted that starting with April 2014; all ministry workers will be paid using Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) as a directive from the President in a move to promote transparency and accountability in all government ministries.
The ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic development is part of public financial management reforms and implementing the system in 40 local governments which is also being implemented in ministries, departments and agencies.
“The system will ease accountability and transparency through online processing and electronic storage facilitating easy access and retrieval of information and speedy and real-time transaction processing through online processing and processing payments using the electronic funds transfer system.”
“The system also helps in accurate and timely information reports through generation of financial and management reports any time.”
