Kabale: 4GC Case Postponed Again

Their defence lawyer, Wilfred Murumba of Murumba and co. Advocates, told Court that his clients could not to appear before court due to political harassment by the state before leaving their homes in Kampala.


Murumba noted that his clients are always roughed up by police and other security agencies during the process of travelling for court hearing which has always put their lives at stake.


“My clients are always beaten up, roughed up and bundled in police vehicles during the process and they now can’t travel here because of fear for their lives,” he told Chimpreports outside court.


The Chief Magistrate’s Court presided over by Her Worship, Mary Babirye, heard that that on July 14, 2012, the three banned For God and My Country Activist” (4GC) while on rally incited supporters who injured four police officers and three vehicles registration numbers UP 1325, UP 1923, and UP 3226 were smashed while on a daily deployment routine.


The rally which was also attended by the former Forum for Democratic Change President, Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye, ended in running battles between the Police and FDC supporters who were blocked from matching Kabale Garage Street and Kisoro road.


On Tuesday, the three political activists were supposed to appear before Kabale chief Magistrate court but they could not appear and her Warship Mary Babirye who set April 30, 2014 for hearing their case again.
