“SPLA has pushed the rebels shortly after the capture of the town in two directions, past Adong and between Nyinthar-Malual and Doleib.”

“Clashes are reported to be going on in Guelguuk, North of Malakal as rebel force falls into SPLA ambush as they head towards Adar.”

While speaking on SSTV, Col. Philip Aguer, SPLA spokesperson, has remarked that SPLA took Malakal and are pushing rebel forces towards Nasir by now.

“SPLA fought the last battle in Nakdiaar and pushed the rebels past Adong,” Col. Aguer was quoted as saying.

Quite to the contrary, Brig Gen Lul Koang, the rebel military spokesperson, says that SPLA has failed in its attempt to reclaim Malakal.

UPDF’s Artillery Units have been shelling our positions in Malakal while the ground forces are making futile attempts break through our defensive lines,” Gen Koang said in a statement released today.

“UPDF troops are also getting close Air Support from their warplanes.”

We are still following up the updates.
