The lawyers are seeking a temporary injunction restraining the Attorney General, KCCA and the Electoral Commission from organizing the by election until the ruling by Constitutional Court’s Justice Yasin Nyanzi on April 20, this year.

Lukwago further seeks court to arrest and detain the Electoral Commission Chairman, Eng. Badru Kiggundu, for disobeying court orders.

Meanwhile, campaigns for Mayoral by-elections kicked off yesterday as scheduled by the EC.

Speculations have been making rounds that Lukwago wrote to the electoral commission warning them against the election which they denied.

Yesterday, Lukwago revealed that he would first consult the electorates so as to get the way forward.
