Prosecution alleges that Besigye and 13 others including his driver made statements intended to incite violence when they mobilised supporters to join Erias Lukwago who was going to greet his voters in Kisekka market in June last year.

However, Besigye who was furious over delay of the case noted that this was one of the tricks by the ruling NRM government to persecute its political enemies.

“They always want to keep us in court so that we get no time to engage in constructive work while they continue harassing us,” the former FDC President said.
