The shooting down of army generals has become a trend in the South Sudan conflict.
Only at the start of the year, Lt. Col Abraham Thiong Deng Ajang, the SPLA battalion commander in Upper Nile States was shot dead in what appeared to be an internal wrangle within the security agencies.
The commander was killed in the Upper Nile capital of Malakal where his troops were planning an advance on the rebels of Riek Machar.
Sometime in December last year two more SPLA generals were killed in action in parallel battles as the government launched Bor campaign.
However, this year’s killings seem to be planned since they are orchestrated by individuals with ultra motives.
