They were later paraded before the Anti-Corruption Court for having asked for a shs300m bribe from the Deputy NSSF Managing Director Geraldine Ssali.

Arthur is a former employee with the IGG’s office.

The duo reportedly sought the sweetener from Ssali, promising to author a favorable report in regard to a corruption probe at the workers’ fund.

Ssali is among senior officials at NSSF being investigated on allegations of corruption, bribery, abuse of office, flouting of procurement rules and influence peddling at the Fund.

Other senior officials under probe include former Managing Director, Richard Byarugaba and Corporation Secretary David Nambale.

The trio has previously denied any involvement in corruption scandals at the Fund.

Chimpreports also understands the accused met officials from the IGG during the investigation triggered by a whistleblower’s report.

The timing of the arrest is very crucial considering that IGG Irene Mulyagonja intends to release her report in the near future.

It appears Mulyagonja intends to convince the public that some individuals within her office who attempted to alter investigators’ findings were detected early enough and brought to book.
