Mao remarked that all the preparations that the EC is undertaking are a waste of time since the people of Kampala can’t allow to be fooled with an illegality that is vividly seen.

“We should all remember that the recent general elections for the same seat went for a re-run after voters aggressively guarded their vote; now how then dare you think that there will be a by-election when all Kampalans are on guard?”

Mao said DP together with the opposition will stage at every polling station in every division informing Ugandans that there are no by-elections, standing with several court orders proving their point.

“We anticipate that there will be a big scuffle in Kampala and at this time, the Kampala matters will be solved once and for all; either promoters of impunity will give way or we shall give up.”

“Kiggundu has given us a chance to solve the Kampala question either with words or with blows; the Kayunga question was settled and we believe this will also be settled.”

He added that the opposition is soon meeting to forge a consented approach against the set Kampala Mayoral by-elections which are due April 17.
