Kanungu: Female Guard Disarms Rapist, Survives

The female guard identified as Evas Ampiire later grabbed him and he fired one live bullet in the air but she disarmed him and threw away the gun.

He later grabbed the gun and fired another bullet as the guard took off.

The following morning, Ampiire reported the matter at Kanungu Police Station and the suspect was last week arrested by Regional Professional Police Standards Unit and is currently detained at Kanungu Police Station where he will be arraigned in court to face attempted rape charges.

In a related development police in Rukungiri are holding two people for breaking into a SACCO and making away with laptops.
