Conflicting ideologies started flying all over; some believed the weapons were being supplied to the rebels but UNMISS clarified that they were meant for the Ghanaian troops who are part of the peacekeeping force.

The rebels too have distanced themselves from the saga.

Rebels statement on the said weapons:

This follows claims by a senior military officer in Lakes States that security officials had intercepted 11 United Nations trucks transporting Firearms and Uniforms to our Gallant Forces in Unity State.

The SPLM/SPLA in Oppositio would like to distance itself from these unfounded allegations.

The Government of South South and its Allies ( UPDF,M23, JEM, SPLM/N-North, SSLM/A-Bapiny and SSDM/A- Oliny’s Militias ) had been our main source of equipment, supplies and other resources not the UNMISS.

Resources captured from the goverment have been supplimenting equipment and supplies we receive each time Kiir’s troops defect to ranks.

Our movement have enough supplies to wage War of Resistance untill the quest for democratic reforms is brough to its logical conclusion.
