Heavy explosions were afterwards reported at the main South Sudanese army stock point at Giada barracks as Juba city.

Five commandos perished and three were reported wounded from the fighting which started on Wednesday early morning over disagreements on salaries.

The chaos was linked to one Commando Unit’s commander, Brig. Gen. Gatweach whose whereabouts are still a mystery.

Dead bodies, according to sources were seen lying on the streets of Giada, Bilpham and Jabel.

According to National Courier, SPLA has just buried 65 dead from Giada salary fight as 60 others seek sanctuary at UN shelters.

“The toll is still expected to rise.”

South Sudan In Focus reports 35 dead in the meantime.

According to a military source, more than 100 perished in the Wednesday clash at Giada army barracks.

The military hospital also accepts losing many due to gun wounds.

We could not confirm the actual number but we are still following the events.
