Mao noted that there were no primaries carried out for the seat since it was only one candidate that expressed interest in the post.

“Butita’s papers have been already received by the party’s Secretary General and he has been approved the party flag bearer,” Mao put in.

“We are very optimistic that Butita will take on the seat since he is a very determined man following his recent desire to stand for EALA Parliamentary seat of which I advised him to leave due to some good reasons which I explained to him.”

Mao revealed that the party is set to launch a campaign in the district on March 24, and will be handing over the party flag to Butita with the aim of serving the people of the area.

The Bubulo West seat was declared vacant after Tony Kipoi, missed more than 15 House sittings forcing Parliament to throw him out.

Last week, the EC publicly announced April 10, as the polling date for Bubulo West County Member of Parliament.
