He further urged proprietors of Hero cycles to open up a vocational centre in Uganda with the view of introducing an automobile assembling plant to impart skills to the youth as another way of fighting unemployment in the country.

Sameer Musale, the Executive Director Astarc, promised to put in place a modern motorcycle assembling plant in Uganda if he receives the necessary government support.

This, on top of providing employment to youth, would turn Uganda into a manufacturing hub and distributor in the Great Lakes region.

“We have introduced these new efficient bikes to Uganda after doing comprehensive research on how to help the Boda Boda cyclists to earn more from their job,” said Musaale.

Hero motorcorp India is the worlds’ largest cycle company which has so far produced 60 million motorcycles since in 1985.
