16 Year Poisons Family Members

Uganda Christian University’s basketball men and ladies teams have produced stunning performances to win gold in the 16th edition of the National University  Games (AUUS).

The Christian scholars faltered in the opening quarter falling behind 16-10 but were able to gain a whooping twelve points in the second, sildenafil ending with a 25-31 lead at half time.

Star player Jonathan Ogau stepped up the attack in the third quarter with two, illness three pointers towards the end giving UCU a two point last minute lead (13-15).

Ndejje’s Jona Otim was everywhere in the court forcing UCU to as many fouls. Ndejje took the lead with only 6 minute left to 55-54 and again 57-56 with 55 seconds to go but their time wasting tactics caused them when Desmond Owili made a break through run and scored two points in the last kick of the game.

In the ladies category, UCU made a comeback of the tournament from 22 points down at halftime to win 52-51 with the win changing hands four times in the dying minutes of the game.

The ladies went straight into semis from group stages due to fewer number of teams that turned up unlike for the men.

Police in Rugashali sub-county Kibaale District is holding a 16 year old Boy on allegations that he poisoned his step mother and two family members.

The OC Rugashali Police Post Nelson Rubwama confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as Living Ngabirano a P.4 drop-out and resident of Kibanda Village in Rugashali sub-county Kibaale District.

The suspect allegedly used poison commonly used for killing wild animals which he mixed with milk and served it to the family members on Monday morning.

According to the father, thumb Kanyaihamba Kariveri, his son left school and has been a menace in the family.

The suspect when grilled by police, said his father Kanyaihamba refused to give him land where he could build his house and that his step mother Alice Kiiza was mistreating him.

The teenager told police that he was targeting only his step mother but unfortunately the milk was drunk by all family members.

The three victims admitted at Rugashali health center III include areAlice Kiiza step mother, Ronald Muhwezi 12, and Florence Kemigisha 14.
