“We used a bus because that is what our bosses chose. The team is fine and will also get enough rest, that is why we left a bit earlier,” said Nsimbe, as the team was being cleared at Mutukula border.

The Mapindzo cup is expected to start later this week with the “cream’’ clubs in CECAFA and will last for 13 days.

The team left with all licensed players save for Julius Ogwanga who is expected to join another club in a mid-season transfer.

The other missing players include; (Brian Majwega, Ivan Ntege, Rogers Arol) who are with national team as it prepares for CHAN.

According to Nsimbe, the team went with two main aims; winning the trophy and testing the players ahead of CAF Champions League and the second round of FUFA Super League.

“We hope to come back victors and I think it is a good chance for players to get exposed ahead of CAF Champions and FUFA Super League,” he pointed out.

URA FC is the other club expected to join KCC to represent Uganda in this tournament.
