ADF Repulsed In Battle For Kamango Town

A senior security official has told Chimpreports that fighting “is raging on between ADF and FARDC near Uganda border” and that the rebels attempted to seize Kamango town for the second time.

According to latest reports, the ADF abandoned their camps at one of their bases, Mwalika base, to launch a final assault on Congo forces but met with stiff resistance.


According to intelligence sources, the Mpondwe border was temporarily closed from December 24 to 26, to bar the rebels from escaping into Uganda.


UPDF has ever since heavily deployed at the Uganda-DRC border to ensure safety of border citizens.


On Thursday this week, ADF attacked the same town (Kamango) but were waved off by UN mission in DRC commonly known as MONUSCO’s aerial bombings although they managed to murder 12 people.


In the same attack, they abducted six people and made away with medicine.


Earlier on, they had attacked and beheaded 21 civilians in North Kivu sending others scampering to refugee camps.

This becomes the third time in this year that ADF are striking near the Uganda border, displacing thousands to refugee camps, massacring and looting goods.
