“Barigye had several cuts on his head and his back,” Kirumira stated.
The nine suspects were arrested with knives, clubs, chains and pliers which police suspect that they use to carry out robberies, especially on the northern by pass.
The increasing crime in the area prompted Andrew Felix Kaweesi, the police commander Kampala metropolitan, five days back, to hold talks with local leaders of Nansana where he appointed DPC Mohammed Kirumira to head operations in the area.
Crime has escalated mostly in areas of Mulago, Wandegeya, Kalerwe, Bwaise, Kawempe and Nansana and most criminals use the northern bypass as their escape route.
“We are to parade and screen all the nine suspects before we take them to court. If found to be attached to the crime, they will face justice according to the law,” DPC Kirumira said.
