KDF Air Force Evacuates More 86 Kenyans

The move to evacautae Kenyans followed an order by President, Uhuru Kenyatta, who is also Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), for KDF to commence immediate evacuation of the 1,600 Kenyans stranded in South Sudan.

Manoah Esipisu, the Secretary of Communication and State House Spokesperson, said in a statement that “the Kenyans are mainly in the town of Bor, in Jonglei State. There are also Kenyans in the towns of Rumbek, Ayod, and Panyabol, who will also be airlifted to safety”.

Kenyatta also ordered the immediate delivery of food; water and medicine to South Sudan to assist tackle the emergency.

KDF is still in action and many more Kenyans are expected to be evacuated.
