SSLA was a rebel group in the area which got amnesty from President Kiir and remained an active force in the area.

Commander Mathew Puljang is the man in charge of SSLA rebels, a group that Kiir’s Dinka forces are going to join.

As Kiir’s forces left Bentiu, “White Army” militias invaded UN bases and sent UNMISS staff scampering for protection in unimaginable places.

Sources say that UN bases look like refugee camps as white army militants continue to loot and ferry away their booty.

The white army has also vowed to launch a counter-attack on Bor which Gen Peter Gadet yesterday lost to SPLA after heavy bombardment of his bases.

The UNMISS staff that fled from its bases have been relocated to Uganda and many more are still being relocated.

Meanwhile, UN Assistant Secretary General, Toby Lanzer’s press briefing in Bor this late afternoon was called off and no clear reasons were given.
