Henry Rugamba, the Heads of communication, said that it’s their duty to fulfill what they promised some time back via different publications before Christmas.

“We have more than 65,000 million share holders and the majority are local people where by customers pay thus enabling us to give back money to different organisations”.

Rugamba also hinted on the new measures they have introduced which have played a great role on improving their services for example YAKA which has decreased power theft.

However, Umeme’s target is to reach areas like Kitintale, Banda and its mission come 2016, is for the whole of Kampala to be on YAKA.

By 2018, YAKA should have reached all upcountry places.
