According to the source, Museveni was moved by the intelligence briefing that Ugandans in Juba are indoors and many without food and water since Sunday when sporadic gunfire rocked the city in a fight between forces loyal to President Salva Kiir and former vice president, Riek Machar.

The turmoil in South Sudan is likely to negatively impact Uganda’s economy as Juba is one of the main sources of foreign exchange revenues.

The country also relies heavily on Uganda for construction materials, food, medicine and other supplies.

One of the hottest items on the agenda is the arrangement of trasnport means to return Ugandans trapped in the volatile country before the conditions deteriorate.

According to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), at least 400 to 500 people have died in the latest armed conflict with many refugees still flocking their headquarters and two erected structures in Juba.
