I think you can’t expect us to play well,” said one of the players who attended the medical test on Monday.

“We can only perform well on individual basis in relation to each player’s goal for example, attracting the attention of scouts but otherwise, we are being paid less than what we are expected to do at the pitch.”

“Look at the Rwanda national team, they received $200 per day per player during CECAFA but for us, we received that for the entire tournament!” added a bitter player.

Impeccable sources say that Cranes players deliberately lost the game to Tanzania in CECAFA quarter finals because they were paid lowly.

Meanwhile, Mujib Kasule who refused to travel with Cranes for CECAFA is expected to lead the team to South Africa in CHAN as head of delegation.

Mujib is said to have disagreed with FUFA president, Moses Magogo, on grounds of including Geoffrey Kizito, Emmanuel Okwi, Hamis Kiiza, Daniel Sserunkuuma, Khalid Aucho and Godfrey Walusimbi in the CECAFA team hence deciding to withdraw himself from the trip to Nairobi.

According to sources, Mujib wanted only home-based players to take part in CECAFA.
