Though Yanga Africans are willing to have Okwi playing in their weekend’s game against Simba, the striker’s (Emmanuel Okwi) tentative stint with SC Villa is yet to expire, according to Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).

“Okwi, starting September this year, had to play for SC Villa only, for a period of six months until FIFA clears him for any further club to acquire his services. So, Yanga must know this if they are to use him,” said one of the FUFA officials who sits on technical committee.

According to reports from Tanzania, Okwi signed with Yanga on Sunday and was expected to be in Tanzania to be officially unveiled by Monday evening.

The striker himself couldn’t be reached for a comment about his move to Tanzania again.

Early 2012, Okwi went for trials at Redbull Salzburg but didn’t complete the trial time claiming that being in Tanzania was better-off being in Austria.

He also went missing after being called for trials with Seri A club Napoli last year.

Meanwhile, Tanzania giants Simba SC have released Uganda’s goalkeeper Abel Dhaira for failure to impress, having been there for less than a year.
