KCC and URA officials have confirmed that they will take part in the tournament and have already done that on paper, according to some team officials.

“We received the invitation some days back and we expect to leave the country for Zanzibar as soon as Christmas Eve is done,” said one of URA officials.

However, the players from the different Ugandan clubs who will participate in this tournament are not yet aware.

“It is news to me. None of the officials has communicated to me. We haven’t even been told when exactly we are to resume training for the second round of the league,” said one of the KCC goalkeepers.

The tournament will run for 13 days and many other East African clubs are expected to take part.

Yanga African, Simba SC (Tanzania), Tusker FC, AFC Leopards (Kenya) are the other clubs that have been invited for this tournament.
