But his co-driver, Gihan De Silver, is eager to take a break after failure to win this year’s African Rally Championship which was among their targets.

“I have spent some days without talking to my brother about the coming season but for me, I may take a break,” Gihan said.

He further noted: “I may change my mind depending on his(Jas Mangati) plans for the next season.”

Earlier this month, sources revealed that Mangati will take a break next year as he will be making strategies to win the ARC in 2015.

Mangati finished 2nd on the ARC chart with 83 points leaving Jassy Singh to be crowned champion after collecting 106 points.

Mangati didn’t take part in the last event on FMU calendar, the Mt Elgon Oilibya rally.

If it happens and he takes a break, this will be a set-back mainly for the rally competitions in Uganda.

In 2011, Mangati didn’t take part in Uganda’s rally event after acquiring the swapping competition licence from Kenya.

But on his return in 2012, he won the National Rally Championship for the first time in his rallying history and this gave him the confidence to put-up a stiff competition and participation in the African Rally Championship, this year.
