Prosecution led by State Attorney, Batson Baguma told court that the accused used a gun to kill Bimboma before he robbed him of all his property and money.

However, Justice Murangira said that he had considered the time the convict has spent on remand and the fact that he is a first offender, hence giving him 60 years in prison for murder and 15 years for robbery but to serve them concurrently.

Meanwhile, the same court has sent, Wilber Tumwebonire to the Grade One Magistrate for a community service after court proved that he was arrested when he was still a child of 16 years.

“It was proved beyond reasonable doubt that Wilber Tumwebonire of Nyabitete Buyanja in Rukungiri district was 16 years old when arrested though today has made 20 years but children law does not allow the high court to convict him,” Justice Murangira explained.

He is accused of stealing sugarcanes four years ago.

“Since you have spent 4 years on remand, I would have sentenced you to run about 10kms in six hours and let you go but since I don’t have the powers, I send you to children’s court of the Grade One Magistrate for sentence,” Justice Murangira said.
