“Most of our expenses were being covered by the market vendors’ daily and monthly payments to the stadium,” Kabanda said.

Kabanda also noted that by the time the vendors reconstruct and plan to re-establish their businesses, they won’t be able to pay anything to the stadium and worse still; they may take longer to re-establish themselves.

“Money from Park Yard vendors has been covering approximately Shs 10 million monthly and now we must reduce on our budget. However, we shall first have a meeting as board members to come out with a final decision,” said Kabanda

The stadium management is still waiting for police’s report too.

It is the 4th time in five years for Park Yard market to be razed by fires.
