ailment sans-serif; font-size: small;”>The two teams have settled for a draw in their last two friendly matches but today’s action is highly expected to have a winner.
The match will be played at Machakos, a newly constructed stadium 60Kms east of Nairobi City.
Unfortunately, as Uganda prepares to battle Amavubi Stars, team captain, Emmanuel Okwi, will have to undergo a late assessment test to be handed today’s match.
According to one of the officials who is with the team in Nairobi, Okwi trained with the team in the morning but could not join his colleagues in the evening shift, complaining of a fever.
“But we shall have to assess his progress so as to ensure he gets to the pitch when he is in good shape,” said a source.
Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza is said to be in good health and high spirits and that he managed to take part in all the two training sessions yesterday.
If Okwi fails to recover in time, head coach Micho is likely to have ‘Diego’ alongside Daniel Sserunkuuma on the striking line.
Meanwhile, the probable line-up is: Benjamin Ochan, Nicolas Wadada, Godfrey Walusimbi, Savio Kabugo, Richard Kasagga, Geoffrey ‘Baba’ Kizito, Vincent Kayizzi, Joseph Mpande, Kiiza ‘Diego’ Hamis Kiiza and Brian Majwega.
Meanwhile, Uganda will have no opportunity playing in Nairobi during group stage matches after the tournament organizing committee resolved to shift their last group stage engagement against Sudan to Nakuru on December 5.
Uganda’s second game after Rwanda will be on December 2 against Eritrea still in Machakos.
