The tournament that has attracted almost 200 boxers is set to end on Friday at the same venue.

Though, the same tournament has been always organised during Godfrey Nyakana’s reign, it had never been taken seriously since National Council of Sports considered Nyakanya to be in power illegally.

Ronald Sserugo, currently in Sweden, was the last Ugandan boxer to take part in both Olympics games and common wealth games.

As a matter of fact, in last year’s Olympics games, Uganda wasn’t represented in boxing because wrangles in Amateur Boxing Federation were still on.
