KCCA Cuts Sports Funds amid Crisis

According to reports from City hall, troche many of the sports activities for all those years did not add anything valuable to the Authority hence the decision to cut all funding save for football.

“We asked for almost Shs 400 million but they instead gave us only Shs 40m in addition to distancing themselves from the club next year, visit this site ” said an official of the KCCA Leopards (ladies) basketball team.

Worse still, the KCCA netball team failed to honour a fixture just at Namboole stadium claiming they had no transport from Kampala to Namboole.

“This year, we have struggled financially because KCCA did not include our budget in the financial year. Next year, KCCA has no intention of injecting a single coin in the team,” added the official.

Nonetheless, Allan Ssewanyana, one of the KCCA FC officials is confident that at least the football team will be funded.

“It will show that the authority is still involved in some sports activities,” Ssewanyana clarified.

However, Ssewanyana had no comment regarding KCCA’s withdraw of funds from the other sports activities.
