Missing MP Ordered To Appear At Parliament

page geneva;”> approved geneva;”> This follows the speaker, Rebecca Kadaga’s directive issued last week asking the committee to investigate Nsubuga’s continued absence from the sitting of parliament without permission from the speaker in spite of the warning given to him on the November 5 requiring him to attend the house in the next sitting of parliament.

The chairperson of the Committee, Fox Odoi, told journalists that the chief whip of the National Resistance Movement, Justin Kasule, would give the party’s position on the matter.

“The committee will not depend on rumours that the MP is nolonger interested in continuing with parliamentary sittings because the committee has not received any evidence of such allegations,” Odoi pointed out.

He said that the committee has failed to locate where to drop the summons because they don’t know where the legislator is at the moment.

Kipoi is battling charges of subversion after being arrested in 2012 in a meeting with security personnel as they reportedly planned a rebellion.
