“Two people died on spot; we lost our own police officer Inspector Asio Abdallatif, who was riding a motorcycle along the road and a 3 year-old boy indentified as Yiga Kaye, who was playing in their compound by the time the accident occurred,” Ssenkumbi narrated.
He further remarked that investigations are still going on to find out the likely cause of the accident, but they suspect that this may have been a result of reckless driving.
Ssenkumbi still cautions all road users to abide by the traffic laws in place and also obey road signs, plus regular check up of their vehicles to avoid careless accidents.
Ssenkumbi pointed out an incident in which a 3 year-old kid, Robin Mugarula, died in a septic tank in Nagyera thus calling upon parents not to leave their kids unattended to, because at times, accidents happen because of negligence by the parents or the caretakers of such children.
