The fight had been slated to take place on November 30 in France but Lubega received a cancellation message from France during the weekend.

“It is so sad that my fight has been cancelled and I can’t tell exactly what happened because fight organisers had already sent a contract and three air tickets. Really, I don’t know what to say but the fact is that I am going to miss being ranked among the top boxers in the world,” Lubega noted.

Meanwhile, one of the boxers’ promoters, Shanitar Maureen Mulangira, promised can organise another fight for Lubega so that he can improve in his rankings.

“The bad thing is that, the more a boxer relaxes in getting fights the more he is likely to drop lower and lower in his rankings,” Mulangira stated.

The Ugandan pugilist has 23 professional fights with six losses, sixteen wins and one draw to his account.

The fighter last entered the ring in June this year at Kyaddondo Rugby Grounds where he successfully defended his World Boxing Council Inter-continental title after the 6th round knockout and has since then not been able to secure another fight.
