“Dear Esteemed Customers, please note that our DStv and GOtv Facebook pages have been hacked into. The person responsible has posted a false campaign of a “FREE DStv” offer,” DStv said in a brief statement on Monday morning.
“We do not have any campaign of that nature running. We apologize for all inconveniences caused.”
Some of DStv’s Facebook followers condemned the act while others alleged it was a former employee.
A one Zack Atama urged the corporate organisation to employ “an outstanding ICT person to run the social media accounts.”
A one Paul Kauma wondered: “Which hacking? Don’t you have any protocol you follow? I have used my transport to come that side you should compensate for the damages and excitement you have caused.”
Arap Chesulut posted on his Facebook page: “Be proactive and keep checking on your page regularly. And respond to clients issues.”
