abortion geneva;”>The suspects include Major Charles Kaahwa, Major Francis Musana and Major Godfrey Bizibu who were commanding officers of the then Arrow Boys Battalions in Magoro, Ongongoja and Obalanga sub counties in Katakwi and Amuria districts respectively.

Among them also are Majors Robert Balibona, Maj. Hanington Kigula, Maj. James Kamurasi, Capt. Ogena Gigio, Capt. Richard Omeda, Capt. Justine Eilor, Lt. D.O Ochakacon, Lt. Gregory Rwentaro, Lt. Stephen Otim Staff Sgt. Chemonges and Sgt. Lawrence Oriokot.

The officers were arrested on July 18, 2007 by the late Brig. Patrick Kankiriho, who was then Commander of the 3rd Division, and then court-martialed at the General Court Martial in Makindye.

All were charged with two counts of theft and conspiracy to theft but they all pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Their case was later transferred to the 3rd Division Court martial in Mbale to make it easier for witnesses to attend court proceedings.

This proved futile because in the next proceeding, there were no funds to facilitate the travel costs of thewitnesses’ transport, meals and accommodation thus the trial was postponed.

The officers will re-appear today to answer to the charges.

Details to follow.
