services.

“So far, 6 companies and individuals have been followed and nabbed by
police. Multichoice has taken them to court and it has been successful on four companies that have been forced to pay a heavy penalty of Shs 4m in court,” stated Masanso.

He went ahead to say that Multichoice is working hand in hand with the police, Uganda Communications Commission and Uganda Registrations bureau to curb down the evil of broadcasting pirates worldwide.

Masenso called upon the general public to be careful about these
people who come to them pretending to be coming from Multichoice Uganda and give out DStvs at low prices but which are of poor quality.

“Since this is a Christmas season, many of these will be approaching you with fake Dstvs,” he warned.

He has also appealed to the public to always visit Multichoice Uganda offices that are spread all over the country to avoid buying from those who move with such gadgets.

Pirates are spread all over the country selling fake DStvs to the public impersonating the name of Multichoice.

They are fond of providing services to the public at relatively lower prices than the company which forces the public to buy from them and leave out quality gadgets.

These are mainly companies and individuals that have no operating licenses to provide such services and they do infringe on the DStv copyright.
