Releasing the names on behalf of the Cranes tactician at the federation headquarters in Kampala on Wednesday, FUFA Vice President in charge of the league, Mujib Kasule explained that the team will play two friendly games including one against the selected players from the concluded University Football League today (Wednesday).

“They will also play against the Amavubi Stars from Rwanda on Saturday before going into a residential camp,” explained Kasule.

The Cranes Squad in full:

This year’s edition of the CECAFA tournament is scheduled for November 27 to December 12 in Kenya with all the group stage matches to be hosted in Nairobi, according to the FUFA Spokesperson Rogers Mulindwa.

He explained that a few knockout stage matches will be played outside the Kenyan capital.

Uganda are the defending champions of the tournament after beating Kenya in finals held at Namboole in December last year.

The Cranes are also the record winners of the tournament after lifting it twelve times since its inception while Kenya have won it five times.
