Mbadi was Museveni’s ADC for almost a decade until recently when he was promoted from Colonel to Major General and elevated to Joint Chief of Staff.
“Exemplary service deserves recognition,” said Museveni at the thanksgiving ceremony held in Kasese on Saturday.
“Mbadi attended the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) where he emerged one of the best trainees,” said Museveni.
Some of the senior government officials who attended the function include Crispus Kiyonga, Gen Salim Saleh and Lt Gen Charles Angina.
Mbadi praised Museveni’s visionary leadership and guidance through patriotism, nationalism, pan-Africanism and socio-economic transformation and creating the most capable force ever in the history of Uganda.
“Furthermore, I wish to thank Your Excellency for the opportunity and trust to make me part of your Excellency’s efforts to create such a formidable force which has metamorphosed from a guerilla Army to an effective, efficient, professional and accountable force capable of contributing to the peace and stability in our country and the region thus earning us national, regional, and international recognition,” said Mbadi.
He urged the youth to cherish the virtue of patience.
“Do not shun jobs or whatever you are doing but engage in productive and income-generating activities instead of riots. Be Patriotic, promote the rule of law and learn positively from others,” advised Mbadi.
