The Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) Selection Committee on Tuesday evening, announced the 14-man squad and two reserves that will represent Uganda at the ICC Africa U-19 Regional World Cup Qualifier scheduled to run from July 1-8 in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.
The Baby Cricket Cranes will be hoping to emulate their predecessors who played at the stage in 2004 and 2006.
The team coached by Franco Ndege Otieno and assisted by Jackson Ogwang is in camp in Jinja where they are undertaking intensive training.
One slot is available for the four competing nations for the slot to the World Cup in New Zealand early next year.
The teams will play a round robbin format over two rounds with the winner earning a place at next year’s U19 World Cup.
The competing countries are hosts Kenya, Botswana, Ghana and Uganda

The team is scheduled to fly out on June 26 (next Monday) and will camp at the Hotel Royal Orchid Azure in Westlands, Nairobi. Whilst in Nairobi, the team will have a full week to acclimatize and adapt to the local conditions before the 50-over continental meet bowls off on July 1.
