Speaking to at the function, Mayiga applauded the king’s subjects for the love and support towards the kingdom which he said will lead to development.

He further assured them of transparency while handling the money contributed.

“I assure you that no one will swindle the money and if any one dares, they will be apprehended. They will also be dismissed from the kingdom’s service,” warned Mayiga.

The premier further called upon the king’s subjects to continue contributing to projects brought up which he said would help the kingdom prosper.

The treasurer of the construction committee and businessman Guster Lule announced Shs 330 million including 698 bags of cement collected during the four-day fundraising campaign.

Kasubi tombs were set ablaze by unknown assailants on March 16 2010.

Buganda kingdom awarded a Shs2.3bn contract to Omega Construction Company to reconstruct the tombs whose budget was estimated at Shs 10bn including building a perimeter fence and installing security cameras around the 64 acres housing the Muzibu Azaala Mpanga.
