Kampala University Crowned League Champions

The Ggaba based University entered the final day with thirty two points, one above Nkumba and both were in hunt for wins but unfortunately the later was defeated by Makerere University.

Faizal Mulondo’s brace on addition to Richard Ayeiko and Otai Peter’s goals gave an away win to Kampala University while Bonny Luze Bony pulled a consolation for MUST.

In an interview with Chimpsport, the champions’ coach Vincent Tumusiime praised his boys for the good job well done.

“Discipline has been a key factor for this maiden trophy. Though we lost last week but my players have always been calm and hopeful for a better and clear come back,” said Vincent Tumusiime who helped the Ggaba based University to win the league in their debut season.

However, Nkumba University tactician, Patrick Ssebuliba blamed his players for not adhering to his instructions leading to the team’s loss to last year’s champions.

“My team had to do their job and win against Makerere but we have failed the test. I had instructed them to go for an early goal but they failed yet in football one mistake can cost you the whole game,” lamented Ssebuliba .

Meanwhile the University Football League organisers have decided to have an awards dinner at a later date.
