Outgoing Kigezi Bishop Warns Against “Rebellious Attitude”

In his last sermon as Bishop, Katwesigye appealed to believers to maintain unity in the church if they are to develop it.

“Unity is strength; we shall overcome anything with it. Our differences should never separate us,” Katwesigye noted.

He encouraged Christians to use positive criticism towards their leaders instead of rebelling against them.

The Bishop further asked people to lead exemplary lives that will have a positive impact on the Ugandan society.

Katwesigye, the fourth Bishop of the Diocese Of Kigezi was consecrated in January 1998.

He will be succeeded by Eng. Rev. Can. George Bagamuhunda on January 19, 2014.

This diocese has recently been in the spotlight for the conflicts that followed the election of George Bagamuhunda as the new Bishop.
