The lawyers’ body further accused Nyombi of misleading the President to appoint Chief Justice Benjamin Odoki for another two-year term despite clocking the mandatory 70 years.
The Uganda Law Society therefore stressed that the Attorney General failed in his duties as provided under Article 119(3) and (4) of the Constitution hence suspending him.
In an exclusive interview with Chimpreports on Monday, Mbidde noted that the Attorney General had done the right thing to go to court protesting his suspension.
“The Attorney General did what was expected of him to petition his suspension through court,” explained Mbidde.
The EALA member, however, blamed Nyombi for acts he labeled as “unprofessional.”
“I am behind the Uganda Law Society because the Attorney General acted unprofessional in several occasions and this has greatly affected the country’s future,” Mbidde said.
The Legislator therefore advised the Attorney General to come out and apologize to the public for his actions.
