order geneva;”>According to police spokesperson for South Western Uganda, Elly Matte, a vehicle registration number UAE 909W driven by a one Ismail Ssengendo overturned after the driver lost control in a case of bad driving.
“The vehicle hit an electric wire on overturning and it caught fire burning the four people beyond recognition,” explained Matte.
Matte added that the fourteen people aboard the box body were lumberjacks heading to Kerere forest in Kabale district.
“The dead including the driver could not be identified because they were burnt beyond recognition,” noted the police spokesperson for South Western Uganda.
The injured were rushed to Mulago Referral Hospital where they were referred by medics at Kabale referral hospital while the four bodies are still at the Makanga Hill Hospital Mortuary.
The Kabale district police traffic boss Michael Ensinikweri attributed the accident to over speeding and overloading, adding that the lorry had five people on the front seat.
