According to UNATU General Secretary, James Tweheyo, government is not committed to fulfilling its promise to the teachers.

”Government had agreed to finance the essential sectors like transport, defence, health and parliament and the remaining Shs243 bn would be given to teachers,’’ said Tweheyo.

Government has since revealed that money for teachers is not available in this financial year and advised teachers to wait for the next financial year.
