The Vice Chancellor Prof. Venasius Baryamureeba has been appointed the new board chairman of the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB).
UBTEB is a national examinations body mandated to coordinate examinations in business, technical and vocational professions in Uganda.
Barya replaces Prof. Simeon Wanyama as the head of the business and technical examinations body.
Prof. Baryamureeba who holds a PhD in computer science heads several councils including Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) innovations council.
The computer science PhD holder is also a member of the International Association of IT governance standards, Uganda National Academy of Computing and Internet Technologies and the Uganda Computer Society and several other professional bodies
Barya has also won several local and international awards one of them being the most influential ICT personality in Uganda in 2009.
