Uwera was last month denied bail by the Nakawa Chief Magistrate, Wilson Masalu Musene.

The judicial official said the suspect had failed to “prove any exceptional ailment by availing court with a medical report of her suffering from ulcers, chronic malaria and high blood pressure for the one month she has been in prison.”

Uwera’s lawyers had also argued that she had spent three months in detention at the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Kireka as detectives investigated the alleged murder.
