Speaking to the media at the Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala, the Kampala Metropolitan spokes person Ibin Idi Ssenkumbi said the body of the security guard only identified as Jorum was found strangled by a belt.

Ssenkumbi therefore added “ the police patrol vehicle that was patrolling the area heard an alarm and on reaching the scene, the murderers had already taken off.’’

Ssenkumbi however noted that the intention of the murderers is not yet established but added that police suspects that these thugs had an intention of breaking into the garage to steal spare parts and vehicles.

Meanwhile police shot two suspected thieves who were found siphoning fuel from a generator at an MTN mast located in Kikulu Zone in Kisaasi a Kampala suburb over the weekend.

Ssenkumbi said as the police patrol tried two arrested the suspected thieves and they decided to take off prompting police to shoot at them injuring 2 of them.

These included among others Peter Nkondu and Julius Nkuntu who were later taken to Mulago hospital for medical treatment.

Ssenkumbi added that it has always been on record that thieves siphon fuel out of the generator at the mast every month.

This comes a few weeks after police warned that it would shoot to kill any suspected robber on sight.
