Capt. Lakot Susan (UPDF MP), who coordinated the transportation of Lowila and her children from the scene of the accident to Mulago, expressed optimism that the lawmaker’s life would be saved.
According to Deputy Police publicist, Patrick Onyango, the accident occurred at around 10:20pm at Kyankonwa village, along Kampala- Gulu Highway in Nakasongola district.
Police suspects the Rav 4 brand car, registration number UAQ 563G, in which the lawmaker was travelling, lost control following a tyre burst.
As the car swerved off the road, said Onyango, “it had a head-on collision with Fuso brand lorry white in colour being driven by a one Herbert Ssekinde, a resident of Gayaza in Wakiso district.”
“The MP sustained serious injuries on her right arm while three children who were travelling with her got minor injuries,” he added.
