Kiprotich, who set the bar high for aspiring Ugandan athletes, has since vowed to defend the two titles.

He will later this month be crowned by USPA at a yet to be known date and venue.

He will be handed shs 500,000 as prize for the accolade.

USPA president, Mark Namanya said Kiprotich stood out from the rest “because what he did was incredible, so together we agreed to recognise him as the sportsman of the month.”


Sports journalists also commended Jas Mangati for winning his maiden Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally and Moses Golola for walking the talk after defeating Titus Tugume.


Willy Kitata was recognized for winning the Onito Memorial Golf Tournament, Jonna Turigye for scooping the Nile Special Open Pool Championship, Lillian Zawedde for his positive performance in the Woodball Championship in Singapore among others.
